1999 Pusey Family Christmas Letter -- Scott Speaks
Scott on the boat off the coast of Langarra Island, B.C. I had an adventure early August when I got to go to Langarra Island in Northern British Columbia (very near Alaska) on a fishing trip with some business associates. I had a great time catching my limit of King Salmon. I brought home about 80 pounds of fish after processing.

The island is undeveloped except for one fishing lodge. Bald eagles fly around like crows and the scenery is fantastic. Unfortunately, I somehow misplaced all my photos which actually evidence the fish I caught. But the freezer full of fish and numerous eyewitnesses can attest to my catches, despite being a complete novice.

As I reflect on 1999, I am so greatful for the progress our family has made. Our children continually amaze me with their growth and inquisitiveness and their potential. As for Jenifer, I asked her to write her own piece this year, Jenifer's World, instead of giving me the list of things we ought to cover.

The result for me was quite moving and I honestly can say I immediately fell in love with her all over again the moment I read her reflections on being who she is.

As I look forward into the year 2000, I am still cynical and disillusioned about the leaders of our nation. 1998 and 1999 did not help. And I am still struggling to find better ways to balance a career and family life. But the real things in life are what I am looking forward to -- basketball and baseball with the kids, doing some skiing and white water kayaking with Jenifer, strengthening relationships with in my extended family and enjoying my new position as Cub Master.
