A substance similar to the ice found on Neptune can be enjoyed in our galaxy with flat board-like devices and mountains. Our family enjoyed skiing at least five times last year – a must for sanity's sake, but we have yet to enjoy it this year! Yikes! And the snow conditions at the end of 2000 are much better than the first few months of the year!

From the confines of our red spacey mini-van vehicle [Jen usually drives the blue mini-van] we explored some well restored ruins of an ancient outpost, that we read about now only in history books. Our Spring break excursion took Jen and the four kids to Bent's Old Fort in southeastern Colorado.

In May, Scott was privileged to accompany Lizzie's fifth grade class on a field trip to Manitou Springs and the top of Pike's Peak. This is one of the easier to "summit" of the dozens of 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado since you can take a train all the way to the top.

On July 4th we had a momentous "Pusey" gathering. 19 Pusey cousins gathered to celebrate the 4th and to say farewell to Loren and Lisa Pusey and family who were shortly to abandon Longmont, Colorado for the green leafy topography of Ohio.

Our big summer excursion was a trip to Disney World in August. (yes, you read that correctly). This trip was sponsored in full by a generous Grandpa and Grandma Pusey. Of course, this only added to the fantasy aspect of the Magic Kingdom etc. because the kids began to think they could get anything or go anywhere just by swiping their guest card anywhere and everywhere the "cast" of Disney World beckoned them. We had great fun with the 22 of us, walkie talkies to keep track of everyone and enough "Mickey" to last for a long, long, time.

It's not so unusual to see space vehicles soaring around in our own galaxy, but to actually be at a landing of one of your space vehicles in your galaxy was a highlight for us. In plain earth terms, we saw the space shuttle land at Edwards for the first time in four and a half years during our Fall break. I now speak of a voyage, a 2000 mile [Jenifer and four kids] odyssey to California where the grandparents may have wished to be on another planet after watching the four kids while Jenifer escaped to Napa for a retreat with Scott and Johns Manville people. Jenifer will never forget the smell of ripe grapes and the feel of tired legs after a 40 mile solo bike ride up and down valley.

Our voyages did not end after California. Thermopolis, Wyoming was another destination in our travel log. This time Scott was at the command of our less-than spacey vehicle in November for Thanksgiving with friends from the ward.
