Arianne was part of a team from her school that competed in a robotics exercise called First Lego League. The teams programmed Lego robots to complete certain tasks and they had to go through interviews and presentations of their designs and solutions. They had a fun day competing with hundreds of kids at the University of Colorado.

We traveled to Utah in June for an unexpected funeral for Jenifer's mother, Gayle Bringhurst Young, who passed away after complications from hip surgery. We miss her greatly. She was a courageous woman who accomplished great things in her life despite debilitating arthritis which afflicted her at a very young age. She is greatly missed, especially by her devoted husband, Ray Young.
Jenifer, Ray and Andrea, Jenifer's sister, took a moment after the graveside service for Grandma Young, to pose for a picture.

Here we have Jenifer and Arianne next to the world famous 20 Mule Team. The grand occasion was "20 Mule Team Days," an annual community celebration in Boron, California. This is Jenifer's hometown so to speak (actually it is North Edwards, 13 miles away) where Jenifer proudly held the title of Miss Boron, 1982.

Since 2007 was the 50th anniversary of the 20 Mule Team Days celebration, the town invited all the former Miss Boron's to be there this year as the famous 20 Mule Team was on public display for the final time. Someone finally got smart and decided the original wagon (not original mules) should be preserved in a museum or something.
Jenifer and all the other (ahem) well-preserved Miss Boron's rode the float and wowed the crowd with that special beauty queen wave that they perfected so many years ago.

Scott snapped this picture of a Mississippi style riverboat passing under the Tower Bridge in London.
Scott successfully added some syndicates from the Lloyd's market in London to Johns Manville's global property insurance program as a result of this trip.

After getting Lizzie settled in her dorm at BYU, Jenifer and Scott headed back to Colorado and took the advice of those classic British rockers, Supertramp, and "took the long way home."
The long way detoured through Aspen and over Independence Pass where Jenifer graciously posed in front of some Colorado High Country grandeur.
