I am in 4th grade. My teacher is Mrs. Sommer. We recently had Grandparents Day on Wednesday, December 19. My Grandpa and Grandma Pusey came from Utah and attended. We built gingerbread houses. We gathered together a music program thing for Grandparents Day. We sang “One Small Step”, “Winter Fantasy” and “Jingle Bells.”
I became much better at division in the summer.

I participated in swim team again this summer. I improved my time in freestyle by a bunch. My improved time was 46.75 seconds for 50 meters. I also swam backstroke. I played soccer again in both the spring and fall seasons. I am on a basketball team too. We are undefeated so far this season.

I am interested in computer games. My favorite computer game is Age of Empires II.

My Dad said I should tell about my thoughts on the terrorist attacks on September 11. After the attacks, I felt sad and angry at the people who attacked New York and the Pentagon. In October, we were going to go to Washington, D.C. but due to the attacks we did not go because the security lines were too long. Here is a poem I wrote to the New York Fire Department:

To all the courageous New York firefighters who are earnestly searching for the victims of the tragedy, here is a poem that I hope you will enjoy reading and cheer you up:

Courageous,
Heroes, heroines, stars
Brave, strong, heroic, the best ever, wondrous
Never ceasing, hard working, selfless
Life savers, someone to look up to, the greatest
Awesome

By your friend,
Harrison Pusey

I have written two short stories for school this year. I have written two poems, an autumn scene thing like a poem. I learned how to fold paper cranes – Japanese origami.

I like to read. Some books I read this year were “Ender's Game” for the second time, “Survival – Death Valley,” “The Adventures of Ulysses,” “The Greek Gods,” “The Giver,” “Crusader,” and “Timeline” by Michael Crichton. I read about 10 Hardy Boys books too.

Finally, my Dad said I have to say something about Cub Scouts, since he is the Cubmaster. Cub Scouts is Great! I have earned my Wolf and Bear Badges this year and I will go into Webelos soon. We did a Space Derby this year instead of Pinewood Derby. My rocket was pretty fast, but not the very fastest.
