North Island Lodge, Langara Island, B.C. Scott and his Dad, John with the 37 pounder

In August, a portion of Team Pusey veered north into Canada. Scott and his Dad took to the water for an exciting week of salmon fishing.

They stayed at the North Island Lodge run by the West Coast Fishing Club. This lodge is located on Langara Island at the very northernmost area of the Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia. On a clear day you can see Alaska from Langara.

The lodge is right on the water. Actually it is a big barge which has been converted into a rather well appointed “house boat.” In the picture on the left you can see (barely) a helicopter which is the only way in or out, other than a boat.

Scott and John caught their limit of King Salmon (sometimes called Chinook or Spring salmon) and Koho salmon. The largest was 37 pounds.

Besides the fishing, they were fed gourmet meals by Chef Walter and had a good time talking and getting to know the other guests at the lodge. This was Scott's second time to Langara and he is hoping to get there again someday!
